Four years after investing in the haute couture house, J. Mack Robinson decided to sell his shares to another American : Richard Salomon, Francophile and president of the cosmetic and perfume firm Charles of the Ritz. While the haute couture business was in deficit, Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent benefitted from the profits earned by their fragrances.
